Been at First Pres since: I attended First Pres in the late seventies and early eighties while in high school and then at college at UCCS. I returned here on pastoral staff in 2017.
What do you like about First Pres?
I love it that First Pres has such a rich history of keeping Jesus at the center of all that it does. This focus on Jesus and how He transforms the lives of those who trust in Him is still at the forefront of all that this church is about. I am excited to be a part of a team of people who are charging hard on this mission and am especially honored to come alongside of people who want to love, support, equip and disciple families in the midst of the challenges of life.
Where can people find you?
I can be found in all kinds of places in and around the church and community connecting with parents, students, kids and families. I’m in the Children’s Ministry areas, the Weber Street Student Center, Café 225, in homes and in offices—equipping and serving our capable staff, volunteers and families. I’m also found doing pastorly things in the Sanctuary and Worship Center on Sundays. My study/office is in the Senior Minister suite off of the Plaza.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy being in the mountains backpacking, hiking, biking, kayaking or skiing and I can be talked into a golf game even though I’m not very good at it. I think life and ministry are interwoven and some of my best times in ministry have been doing adventurous things with people. My wife, sons and daughter are often a part of those adventures, and I feel blessed that God has given us such a beautiful world in which to discover who He is and what He wants for our lives. Spending time at a good local restaurant or coffee shop can be a satisfying way to do life together as well.
