Session 1 - Friday Night

Belonging Deficit: Longing for a Place ‘Where Everybody Knows Your Name’

Loneliness is becoming a major epidemic in the modern world. People have a God-given need to know and be known in the context of the place where they live. We all desire to belong somewhere and one of the ways we can love our neighbors is to be catalysts of belonging in our neighborhoods.

Session 2 - Saturday Morning

3 Pieces of Glass: The Tragic Demise of Face to Face Contact

Part of the reason that it is becoming more common feel lonely and disconnected from the people and places where we live is because we have embraced certain technologies that prioritize speed, efficiency, and convenience over face to face contact. The automobile, the television, and the smart phone have brought us numerous blessings, but they have come at a steep cost that we are only beginning to notice.

Session 3 - Saturday Morning

Placemaking: Encouraging Meaningful Connections with Neighbors

Just because we’ve been on a path that encourages disconnection and loneliness, doesn’t mean that we have to stay on it. More and more people are looking for opportunities to meet their neighbors face to face and to invest their energies in local things. These efforts go under the heading of placemaking and represent a new opportunity for Christian communities to address the problem of loneliness while enjoying the people and places that are proximate to them.

Children's Programming

Children’s Ministries will offer a program for children kindergarten through fourth grade. Friday evening we'll have a pajama party with popcorn and a movie, so wear your pajamas! On Saturday, we will explore the same topics that parents will be digging into through hands-on activities, a service project, and a prayer walk around the church. Children's registration is included on the same form as parent registration.

(Registered children younger than kindergarten will be cared for in our safe and fun nursery facility. Students fifth grade and up are invited to attend the main conference sessions at the student rate!)
