I Will Rejoice

I Will Rejoice

Nov 26, 2017

Passage: Habakkuk 3:17-19

Preacher: Jennifer Holz

Series: Kingdom Come: A Study in Habakkuk

Category: Old Testament

Detail:

Nevertheless, I will rejoice.

I Will Rejoice

This Week's Sermon

How should we act once we have knowledge of how unfair, ungodly, unjust the world is all around us? How should we behave when we face hardship, and things don’t turn out the way we expected? In the face of the things, we praise the Lord. This is what is meant by offering a “sacrifice of praise” to the Lord (Heb. 13:15; Psalm 50:23 ESV). Even as I wait for the Kingdom Come, I will celebrate and joyfully worship with unabashed passionate praise to the Lord my Savior! We lift our Thanksgiving worship to the Lord. Maybe life makes that difficult this year. Nevertheless, I will rejoice!

ABOUT THE KINGDOM COME SERMON SERIES:

The prophet Habakkuk could see the coming onslaught. God's people were about to be overthrown by the Babylonians. Habakkuk cried out to the Lord for justice, but accepted his fate as judgment and correction. His cries are our cries today. We pray from a position of longing and hope, wanting above all that God would send his Kingdom. We watch and wait for heaven to come down. We long for the Kingdom Come.
