This Week's Sermon

With any new venture there are ups and downs. Jesus experienced a spiritual high at baptism, then was immediately thrust into the wilderness for forty days of temptation. Don’t assume that coming face-to-face with difficulty means God wants you to stop. God can meet you in the ups and downs. Jesus came up out of the water and the Spirit came down upon him. We are not carried away by ups and downs, but we remember the truth of the consistency of God’s love.

About the Start Series

The first step can be the most frightening; the start can be the hardest part. We are “maintain” people. We can keep stuff going. But how do we get moving on something different? Maybe God is calling you to start something new, to take a new step in a new direction in the New Year. The first chapter of Mark gives us the Gospel version of “Start.” It shows how the Jesus started his ministry. This series will encourage you to give it a try. To start.
