Passage: Ephesians 4:17-32

Preacher: Tim McConnell

Series: Me to We: A Study in Ephesians

Category: Discipleship, Epistle

What do you need to put down to take up new life in Christ?

This week's sermon

Are you willing to be altered, transformed, shaped by God? The Bible says we are being transformed day by day, ever changing and ever growing more and more into the likeness of Jesus the Son and Glory of God the Father by the Power of the Holy Spirit (2 Cor 3.18). God is changing you. Put away your former way of life, your old self, corrupt and deluded by its lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind. Clothe yourself with the new self—a new self made after the likeness of God, in true piety and true holiness. Alone “me” sat in his unchanging isolation; together “we” are changing into the likeness of Jesus Christ.

About This Series: From Me to We: A Study in Ephesians

Is life all about Me? A Me lifestyle is about the isolated individual—my ideas, my agenda, my concerns alone. From this vantage point, life is about making Me the best I can be. But faith in Jesus Christ draws us into We, where there is a relationship with God and others. We means setting our opinions aside and submitting in faith to Jesus Christ. We means being part of a family—a community of faith, united across racial and social lines. Journey with us from Me to We as we study the book of Ephesians this summer.
